DU students demand arrest of attackers

Protesting the attack on Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Vice-President Nurul Haque Nur and his followers, a section of Dhaka University students today formed a human chain demanding immediate arrest of the attackers.

Protesters under the banner of ‘Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad’ organised the programme at Shahbagh intersection this afternoon.

While addressing the programme, Muhammad Rashed Khan, joint convenor of the platform, claimed students who received injuries on December 22 at Ducsu building were falsely implicated in the case.

They were also harassed in many ways, he said and demanded a stop to the harassment.

Meanwhile, newly formed alliance ‘Santrash Birodhi Chhatra Oikya’ placed a four-point demand which included legal action against attackers and cancellation of their studentship.

Their other points are---removal of DU Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani for his failure to protect the students from the attack, withdraw false case against the injured students and bear treatment cost of the victims and ensure security for the students in the campus.
