United movement: BNP to hold talks with other parties for a roadmap

BNP has decided to hold talks with other opposition parties to chalk out a roadmap for a united movement.

BNP's Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announcement at party chairperson's Gulshan office.

"We have decided to hold talks with political parties to reach national unity – to restore democracy in the country," he said.

Fakhrul said BNP will hold talks with various political parties and then the roadmap for the movement will be finalised.

Towards that goal, BNP will hold talks with Nagorik Oikya at the latter's office today, he added.

When asked whether the party will hold talks with Jamaat-e-Islami, he said, "We will hold talks with all political parties."

When asked whether the 20-Party Alliance will be dissolved, Fakhrul said, "We did not dissolve it. The future of the alliance will be finalised through talks."
