CPB urges people to be united for restoring voting rights

Central leaders of the Communist Party of Bangladesh on Friday at a protest rally in Dhaka called on the people to be united for restoration of voting rights of the people seized by the Awami League government.

CPB centrally held a rally at Purana Paltan crossing demanding restoration of voting rights of the people and immediate steps to reduce price hike of the essential commodities, where party president Mohammad Shah Alam chaired.

Mohammad Shah Alam said that the Awami League government had failed to reduce prices of the essential commodities which had caused endless sufferings to the common people.

He called on the government to take immediate action against the hoarders and the syndicates responsible for the price hike.

Former president of the party Mujahidul Islam Selim said that the Awami League government could not avoid the responsibility for failure to control the price hike of the essential commodities.

He called on the government to resign from power for their failure.

General secretary of the party Ruhin Hossain Prince said that the next general election must be held in a free and fair manner under a caretaker government and so the Awami League government must resign from power.

He called on the people to be united for building resistance for restoration of voting rights of the people.

Assistant general secretary Mihir Ghosh, central leaders Sajedul Huq Rubel, Joly Talukder and others spoke at the rally.

The rally was followed by a protest procession that paraded different city roads.
