Country heads toward farcical polls: CPB

Leaders of the Communist Party of Bangladesh on Friday at a rally in Dhaka said that the country was moving towards another farcical one-sided national election and their party would not participate in it.

CPB organised the rally in front of the party’s central office at Purana Paltan where its president Mohammad Shah Alam chaired.

Mohammad Shah Alam said that Awami League government was leading the country towards another unilateral and farcical general election and most of the opposition parties including CPB would not participate in it.

Former president of the party Mujahidul Islam Selim said that the people of the country would not allow any farcical general election.

He called on all to resist the polls.

CPB general secretary Ruhin Hossain Prince said that they wanted to establish the voting rights of the people in the country.

The rally was followed by a protest procession that paraded different city roads.
