Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner and Detective Branch (DB) chief Mohammad Harunor Rashid has said that they are looking for BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
“He would be brought to justice,” he said in response to a question from reporters at his office in Dhaka’s Minto Road on Sunday.
The DB chief said: "We have arrested many senior leaders against whom cases were filed. Ruhul Kabir Rizvi is being sought and will also be brought under the law soon. There are several cases filed against him,” he added.
Referring to BNP leader Rizvi, he said: "He says he is an ill person, how can an ill person announce movements so frequently? If he is healthy, he can appear in court.”
Meanwhile, Rizvi, on Sunday morning, distributed leaflets in the capital's Malibagh kitchen market area to boycott the upcoming polls.
On December 4, a Dhaka court issued an arrest warrant for the veteran politician.
