Lawyers of the Dhaka Bar Association have boycotted the court as part of the BNP's ongoing non-cooperation movement demanding the resignation of the government.
The lawyers took positions in front of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court, Dhaka District and Sessions Judge Court, Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court, and Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Monday morning.
At that time, lawyer Hannan Bhuiyan said that would not participate in any hearings and continue to protest peacefully.
Earlier on December 31, pro-BNP lawyers at a meeting at the Dhaka Bar Association expressed solidarity with the boycott of courts across the country.
On December 27, Barrister Kayser Kamal, secretary general of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum and legal affairs secretary of the BNP's central committee, announced the countrywide court boycott program from January 1 to 7.
