Rizvi accuses govt of blaming opposition for its crimes

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has claimed that the Awami League government is carrying out killings and acts of sabotage and then putting the blame on those fighting for democracy.

The whole nation is against the January 7 polls, but the ruling Awami League is intimidating them and trying to hold an illegal election, Rizvi said after distributing leaflets and conducting mass communication with leaders and activists of the party in Mirpur, Dhaka, on Monday.

"They want to use force to stay in power illegally. So use your rights against them by boycotting the one-sided election, preventing the unlawful government from remaining in power."

Mentioning that the outcome of the election is already decided, the BNP leader said thousands of crores of taka will be wasted on the polls.

The Awami League has already killed democracy and now wishes to bury it through a fake election, he said, adding that human rights are on the verge of destruction.
