AL infighting over supremacy soaks country with blood: BNP

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party said on Saturday that ruling Awami League people, who amassed illegal wealth through corruption, engaged in clashes with each other over the establishment of their supremacy and such clashes soaked the country with blood.

BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the statement in a briefing at the party’s central office at Naya Paltan in the capital.

Referring to AL internal clashes in Munshiganj and Jashore that killed one and inujred several others, he said that the ruling party people did not bother for human rights and law and order.

The BNP leader asked why the people who indulged in so much corruption would care about human rights, voting rights, or freedom of expression in the country.

‘Without these, they are in power and can loot people’s money freely, and they can build heaven in the world’s richest countries with the ill-gotten money,’ he said.

He also alleged that the people of the ruling party were using illegal money money to spread their dominance across the country.

Wishing the people of the country ahead of the Bengali New Year, Rizvi said, ‘our hope is to build the country anew and to re-establish democracy and the lost rights of the people speeding up our ongoing movement.’
