Cumilla Victorians has beaten Sylhet sixers by four wickets in their opening match of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Shahid Afridi’s unbeaten 39 off 25 balls to ensured the win for the Victorians chasing 127, posted by Sixers for the loss of eight wickets.
The Cumilla franchise reached their target with one balls to spare.
Tamim Iqbal posted 35 runs on the board giving the Victorians a solid start.
Al Amin Hossain and Sandeep Lamichhane claimed two wickets each for Sylhet.
In the first innings, West Indian Nicholas Pooran scored the highest 41 for the Sixers.
Cumilla’s next match is against Rangpur Riders on Jan 8 while Sylhet will lock horns with Chittagong Vikings on Jan 9.
