US condemns political violence in Dhaka

The United States condemns today’s political violence in Dhaka, said the State Department in a statement on Saturday.

“We call for calm and restraint on all sides and will review all violent incidents for possible visa restrictions,” said the State Department.

The US embassy in Dhaka in a statement said, “The reported killing of a police officer, a political activist, and the burning of a hospital are unacceptable. As this violence is against civilians, including journalists.”
