Khaleda Zia instructs from jail to oust govt, says Moudud

Dhaka, Sep 27 (Just News): Bangladesh Nationalist Party standing committee member Moudud Ahmed on Thursday said the party’s chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has instructed them from jail to take steps for ousting the government through movement creating national unity.

Moudud said this when addressing a discussion at Moulana Bhasani auditorium at Dhaka city BNP office at Nayapaltan in the city organised by Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal marking the second death anniversary of BNP standing committee member ASM Hannan Shah.

He said Khaleda Zia’s lawyer AJ Mohammad Ali on Wednesday met her in jail and he informed them that her (Khaleda) health condition is very bad. Moudud said he thought he should inform the party leaders and activists of the chairperson’s message.

Moudud, a former law minister said, the first message of Khaleda Zia is to make arrangements for ousting the government through movement creating national unity.

He said Khaleda Zia before going (to jail) called for forging national unity.

Moudud said BNP is now in a process of forging national unity claiming that they would be able to realise their demands from the government by taking to the street along with people through national unity.

He said the government will be forced to sit in a dialogue with the opposition parties. Because, there is no alternative to dialogue, he added.

The government is in daydream if it thinks to hold another national election like January 2014, Moudud said.

He said this will never be possible in Bangladesh.

He said they will take part in the next polls freeing Khaleda who was sentenced to five years in jail by a special Dhaka judge’s court in a graft case on February 8 and instantly sent her to erstwhile Dhaka Central Jail on Nazimuddin Road in Dhaka.

Moudud said fresh programmes of movement would be given from October 1.

He said BNP have to take preparation for both movement and election, saying the movement has to make success to participate in the election.

Presided over by Mahila Dal president Afroza Abbas, the discussion was addressed among others, by general secretary Sultana Ahmed and organising secretary Helen Zerin Khan.
