Salma Chowdhury Ruma, a reserved-seat MP from Rajbari, has been flown to Dhaka by a helicopter after she caught the novel coronavirus.
An Army helicopter carrying Ruma took off from Kazi Hedayet Hossain Stadium, Rajbari for the capital around 2:30pm on Monday, Sadar Police Station officer in-charge Swapan Mazumder said.
Earlier this morning the coronavirus-infected lawmaker was admitted to Rajbari Sadar Hospital but later it was decided to send her to Dhaka as her condition deteriorated.
The reserved-seat parliamentarian tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, on Sunday, said brother Golam Mostafa Chowdhury Rontu.
