Attorney general Mahbubey Alam, who was undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital in the capital with COVID-19 infection, died on Sunday evening.
Mahbubey Alam’s son Suman Mahbub confirmed that his father died at 7:25 pm.
Mahbubey Alam was 71.
Mahbubey Alam was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit of the CMH on September 18 after the deterioration of his condition as his heart pulse rate increased suddenly.
He was admitted to the CMH with fever on September 4 and was tested COVID-19 positive on the same day.
