Bangladesh logged an additional 18 deaths and 1,899 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Friday, counting the death toll to 8,642 and infections to 566,838.
Among the deceased, 11 were male and seven female patients.
A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.
Some 18,917 specimens were tested in the timeline at 219 labs across the country.
Bangladesh had tested a total of 43,68,111 specimens as of March 19.
A total of 1,618 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 519,141.
Bangladesh on March 8, 2020 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18, 2020.
