COVID-19 claims 22 more, infects 2,172 in Bangladesh

Bangladesh logged an additional 22 deaths and 2,172 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Sunday, counting the death toll to 8,690 and infections to 570,878.

Among the deceased, 19 were male and three female patients.

A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.

Some 21,108 specimens were tested in the timeline at 219 labs across the country.

Bangladesh had tested a total of 44,09,119 specimens as of March 21.

A total of 1,687 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 522,405.

Bangladesh on March 8, 2020 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18, 2020.
