Justice for Nayeem: Notre Dame students take to the streets again

Notre Dame College students took to the streets again today to demand prompt justice for those responsible for the death of their peer, Nayeem Hasan.

A group of outraged students marched in front of Notre Dame College in Dhaka's Arambagh area at 11am. The procession proceeded to Shapla Chattar, where it paused for a while. The students later left for Gulistan.

They were shouting slogans "Our brother in grave, why is the killer out?" and "We want justice", our photojournalist Prabir Das reported from the spot.

Nayeem died yesterday morning after being hit by a vehicle of Dhaka South City Corporation in Gulistan area.

The driver of the DSCC vehicle was arrested and the vehicle was seized, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Paltan Police Station, Salauddin Mia.
