US-Bangla plane makes emergency landing at Dhaka airport

Dhaka, Mar 24 (Just News): A Malaysia-bound US-Bangla aircraft made an emergency landing 15 minutes after taking off at Dhaka airport this morning.

The emergency landing of the plane took place at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport as the pilot of the plane received a “false indication” from the aircraft after taking off at 8:45am, Kamrul Islam, a spokesperson of US Bangla Airlines, said this.

However, the flight carrying 164 passengers resumed towards its destination at 11:45 am upon receiving clearance from Civil Aviation authorities, Kamrul also said.

“No faults were found following a through checkup on the craft after its emergency landing” Kamrul Islam added.

At least 51 people were killed as the US-Bangla Airlines aircraft crashed and burst into flames while landing at the Kathmandu airport in Nepal on March 12. Twenty-six Bangladeshis were among the dead.
