Two persons died and three others were injured as a microbus fell into a roadside ditch after being hit by a truck in Cumilla's Daudkandi upazila today.
The deceased were identified as Sattar Mia, 65, and Dulal Bapary, 62. Both were residents of the upazila.
The microbus fell into the ditch as the Dhaka-bound truck hit it from behind in front of Shahidnagar MA Jalil High School around 8:30am, said Md Jahangir, officer-in-charge of Daudkandi Highway Police Station.
One of the victims died on the spot and another was declared dead after he was rushed to a local hospital. The victims were passengers of the microbus, he said.
The truck toppled on its side upon impact, the OC said, adding police seized both vehicles after the accident.
