Bangladesh Railway on Tuesday finished selling all advance train tickets online for the western region, which is nearly 16,000 tickets, within two hours ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr journey.
According to the schedule, on the third day of advance ticket sales, Bangladesh Railway started selling tickets for April 5 at 8am. All the intercity train tickets were sold out within two hours.
The website faced significantly higher pressure, with over 9.5 million hits.
Kamalapur Railway Station Manager Mohammad Masud Sarwar shared this information.
Meanwhile, the sale of tickets for the intercity trains of the eastern region was supposed to start at 2pm. The total number of outgoing train tickets from Dhaka, including specials for both eastern and western regions intercity trains, is 33,500.
