Tigers fightback with three wickets, Sri Lanka 378/4

Bangladesh bowlers have fightback with three early wickets in the first session of day two as hosts Sri Lanka have scored 378 runs losing four wickets after 135 overs during their second Test at Pallekelle International cricket stadium in Kandy on Friday.

Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed has provided the much needed breakthrough for Tigers in the first hour of day two as he got the wicket of well-set Lahiru Thirimanne during the 15th overs of day’s play. Thirimanne scored 140 off 298 deliveries with 15 boundaries.

Later Taskin also got the wicket of experienced Angelo Mathews (5). Then left arm spinner Taijul Islam removed Dhananjaya De Silva (2) during 112th over.

Number three batsman Oshada Fernando is unbeaten on 81 after 135 overs.

Earlier, Sri Lanka resumed day 2 with the overnight score of 291/1.

Sri Lanka skipper Dimuth Karunaratrne was the only batsman who got out on day one as the left hander scored 118 before losing his wicket to debutant Bangladesh pacer Shoriful Islam
