Premier all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has tested Negative for covid on Friday morning.
"We are aware that Shakib tested negative. However, we shall take the decision after BCB medical team updates on his health"
BCB team director Khaled Mahmud Sujon confirmed Shakib's negative test and added that the all-rounder may participate in the first Test if the BCB medical team deems him fit to play.
Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin also told The Daily Star that the situation depends on his fitness.
"We are aware that Shakib tested negative. However, we shall take the decision after BCB medical team updates on his health," Minhajul said.
The all-rounder had earlier tested positive for virus on his return from USA and was consequently ruled out of the First Test which will start on Sunday. However, Shakib is likely to join the team at Chattogram this evening.
