Banks to remain closed from April 14 to 21

The Bangladesh Bank on Monday decided to keep banks closed during the countrywide fresh restrictions between April 14 and April 21, said Bangladesh Bank spokesperson and executive director Serajul Islam.

The decision was taken at a board meeting in line with the government instructions.

The government on the day imposed week-long restrictions from April 14 morning till April 21 midnight to contain the surge of COVID-19 infections.

Serajul, however, said that the banks’ branches, sub-branches and booths adjacent to the country’s land, water and airports will only provide export import related services during the week-long restrictions.
