Covid-19 claims 114 more, infects 5,249 in Bangladesh

Covid claimed 114 more people and infected 5,249 more in 24 hours until Tuesday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 25,513 and infections to 14,72,964 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 15.12 per cent.

Among the deceased, 56 are male and 58 female are patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 34,704 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 705 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 87,21,014 samples as of August 24.

In the past 24 hours, 8,907 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 13,81,763.

In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 40 and Chattogram logged 29 deaths.
