Covid claims 26 more lives, infects 1,555 in Bangladesh

Covid claimed lives of 26 more people and infected 1,555 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Monday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 27,251 and infections to 15,44,238 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 5.67 per cent.

Among the deceased, 11 are male and 15are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 27,431 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 808 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 94,65,687 samples as of September 19.

In the past 24 hours, 1,565 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 15,03,106.

In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 15 and Chattogram logged five deaths.
