Dhaka, Apr 28 (Just News): Yet another youth has fallen victim to Dhaka’s reckless transport system. This time a driver lost his leg as a speedy bus ran him over on Saturday afternoon at Jatrabari.
The victim, Rasel Sarker, 23, son of Shafiqul Islam of Palashbari upazila in Gaibandha, is a driver himself.
Rasel told Prothom Alo, a Green Line Paribahan bus collided with his car as he was driving back from Keraniganj. The bus ran him over, severing his left leg following an altercation with the bus driver.
Sub-inspector of DMCH police box Bacchu Mia said, Rasel was brought to DMCH by bystanders. After primary treatment, he was then taken to Square Hospital by one of his colleagues.
Tariqul Islam, sub inspector of Shahbagh police station told Prothom Alo, the bus driver Kabir Mia has been detained and the bus is seized.
No case has been filed yet in this regard, he added.
