Dhaka, Dec 5 (Just News): Lawyers of jailed Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia on Wednesday filed appeals with the Election Commission against resection of her nomination papers by the returning officers.
Khaleda Zia’s lawyers Masud Talukder and Kayser Kamal filed the appeals with the EC at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital as her nomination papers were turned downed by the respective returning officers of Bogura 6 and 7 and Feni 1 constituencies on Sunday’ scrutiny.
The nomination papers were rejected by the officials as Khaleda Zia was awarded conviction more than two years which a disqualification of contesting in elections, EC officials said.
