The International Crimes Tribunal-1 on Wednesday sentenced Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s former lawmaker of Bogura-3 constituency Abdul Momin Talukdar alias Khoka to death for committing crimes against humanity during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
A three-member International Crimes Tribunal, headed by Justice Md Shahinur Islam, handed down the verdict.
The other members of the tribunal are Justice Abu Ahmed Jamadar and Justice KM Hafizul Alam.
The former BNP lawmaker was tried in absentia.
