The president of Islami Oikya Jote (IOJ) Maulana Abdul Latif Nezami has died at a hospital in Dhaka.
The 84-year-old was rushed to the Islamic Bank Central Hospital just before the evening prayers on Monday, said IOJ Secretary General Mufti Foyzullah.
He was declared dead by the doctors at 8.25pm, said Maulana Korshed Alam, who heads the party’s student wing Chhatra Khelafat.
Nezami was also the editor of a daily newspaper ‘Doinik Sarkar’.
