A court has remanded Dhaka Tribune’s Khulna Correspondent Hedayet Hossain Mollah for three days over one of his reports on vote counting in Khulna-1 constituency.
Hedayet, who was arrested under the Digital Security Act on Tuesday, was produced before court on Wednesday.
Police pleaded for a remand of 10 days but the court granted three, his family confirmed.
The journalist was arrested on Tuesday, over a report Dhaka Tribune ran on vote counting Khulna-1 constituency, which encompasses the Batighata and Dacope Upazilas of the southwestern district.
The assistant returning officer Debashish Chowdhury claimed that the contents of the report were untrue and filed a case against Hedayet
