Dhaka, Nov 12 (Just News) : BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has been released from Chattogram Central Jail, said senior Superintendent of the prison Prasanta Kumar Banik.
The senior BNP leader was released around 7:30am on Monday after he was granted bail by the High Court on November 4 in a case filed under the ICT Act.
Previously, a Chattogram court sent Khasru to jail after rejecting his bail extension plea.
Chattogram city Chhatra League acting General Secretary Jakaria Dastogir filed the case against Khasru over an audio conversation, leaked on Aug 4.
In that conversation, Khasru, a former minister, reportedly instigated a student to carry out sabotage during the students’ road-safety protests.
