Nagarik Oikya demands reelection, dissolving JS

Nagarik Oikya on Friday demanded an acceptable reelection dissolving parliament which was elected through, what they said, a farcical national election held on December 30, 2018.

Nagarik Oikya organised a press conference at National Press Club in the capital, where its convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, said that democratic rule was absent in the country as a result Awami League government became autocratic.

The party arranged the press conference on the issue of prevailing anarchic situation and spread of dengue across the country with death of more than 61 people.

Manna in his written speech raised two demands to control dengue— one to set up camps in every ward and the other to spray anti-mosquito repellent every day.

The patients should get free treatments and investigations in every hospital and clinic.

He called on the government to take adequate steps to save the flood victims of the country.

SM Akram, adviser to Nagarik Oikya, presidium member Mominul Islam and others attended the press conference.
